Match Review LS23 | Kuching City FC 2-1 Selangor FC | We Will Rise In the Final 2 Matches Of The Super League 2024/25.

Selangor FC's attempt to bring home points from Sarawak was unsuccessful after a narrow defeat to Kuching City FC yesterday at the State Stadium.

Selangor FC made many attempts but Ramadhan Saifullah earlier scored a goal for Kuching City FC in the 26th minute of the match. Then, Mukhairi Ajmal managed to breathe new life into the team by equalising the score with a goal in the 50th minute after receiving a pass from Quentin Cheng. The match continued to tally for 34 minutes until Jimmy Raymond added to the Red and Yellow squad's sorrow with a goal in the 85th minute. The match remained 1-2 until the final whistle.

According to Selangor FC Head Coach, Katsuhito Kinoshi, he apologised to the fans for this defeat.

"First of all, I would like to apologise to the fans who flew to Sarawak for the match yesterday. Despite the heavy rain, they still supported the team. I really appreciate it," Kinoshi began the press conference.

"My comment regarding the match is that we did not play the way we should, and because of that, we conceded a goal in the first half. Then, we made a few changes in the second half, one goal was scored but due to a small mistake, we were punished with another goal from the opponent.” Kinoshi stressed.

Selangor FC has secured the second place in the 2024/25 Super League with 46 points from 14 wins, four draws and four losses. In addition, 41 goals have been scored from 22 matches that have taken place.

Next, the league will take a break to make way for the National squad for the international matches in the FIFA calendar. The team will return to action on April 5th against Terengganu FC at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya at 8:15 pm.

The Management would like to thank the fans who flew to Sarawak to support the team. Your sacrifices are greatly appreciated.

Demi Kebanggaan!
